Information You Submit
A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third party that supplies those results. Our servers do not retain the search. When you contact us, we use the contents of that message only to respond.
Routine Technical Data
Standard hosting logs can record an IP address, browser type, requested pages, and time of access. Aggregate use helps diagnose faults and measure which resources are useful. Basic analytics or advertising measurement may also rely on cookies or comparable technology.
What We Do With This Data
Operating the site, fixing problems, counting traffic, improving pages. We do not sell visitor lists and we do not build profiles of individual users.
Links to Other Websites
We link out to county and state records portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Their privacy policies, not ours, govern what you submit there. That is especially true of the sponsored search results, which a third-party company provides.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Illinois uses a sector-specific privacy framework; the project research identified no universal state data-broker deletion portal. You may still ask to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. Because that data is limited, a request normally concerns contact mail or server logs. Use the Contact page. Records held by Illinois, McHenry County, or a municipality remain under the control of the government custodian. Illinois FOIA, 5 ILCS 140, does not make confidential records public, and the Address Confidentiality Program under 750 ILCS 61 protects qualifying participants.
Updates to This Policy
Any change to this policy will be posted on this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
